Harvard Business School’s CORe is a 150-hour, online program delivered over 8 to 12 weeks. Created by Harvard Business School faculty and staff, the program teaches the fundamentals of business through 3 courses: Business Analytics, Financial Accounting, and Economics for Managers, using the HBS case method. CORe is ideal for many undergraduate students, as the material can be a good supplement to their existing coursework, and the program is designed to fit with a student’s summer internship/plans and can also be taken during the school year.
How to Enroll
- Apply to the program via HBS’s website with your wesleyan.edu email address
- The program fee must be paid with a credit card
- If you are a student on a high-level of financial aid, the Gordon Career Center will cover the full cost of the program — please see the instructions below to apply for funding.
How to Apply for Funding through the GCC:
Please note, you must be a current student to apply for additional funding. Graduated seniors are, unfortunately, ineligible for funding.
- Fill out the confidential HBS CORe funding request application
- The Gordon Career Center reviews applications and verifies each applicant’s need level with the Office of Financial Aid
- Once approved, funds are transferred to students via direct deposit
- To receive funding, students must have direct deposit set up with Wesleyan in advance. Students who do not yet have direct deposit set up may do so by completing the Authorization Agreement for Payroll Direct Deposit Form and returning it to the Payroll Office. As these funds could be 1099 reportable, we recommend that students consult with a tax advisor on how to treat and report this grant for tax purposes.
- Students must submit their signed HBS CORe Grant Fund Agreement Form within 90 days of receiving the award via direct deposit, or by the end of the academic year (whichever is sooner).
Students should allow up to six weeks for receipt of funds from the time they submit their application.
