Job Title: Field Sales Associate (beauty)
Location: Los Angeles County (Must be onsite, requires driving)

Bessie is an award-winning, fast growing beauty brand, recognized by media like Hypebae, Bustle and Beauty Independent, that creates premium quality, non-damaging press-on nails. We launched in late 2023, and have quickly grown to recognized brand in the beauty industry! As part of this growth, we’re looking to launch more in-person initiatives – that’s where you come in!
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a social, high-energy, and well-organized Field Sales Associate to represent Bessie at various fairs, events, and college pop-ups that we organize. In this role, you will travel to different locations (within an approximately 2-hour radius) to set up pop-up experiences, directly interacting with potential customers and educating them on products and facilitating sales. This will give you a strong exposure to field sales as well as the beauty industry as a whole.
We’re also a startup with tons of room for growth – you’ll work directly with our co-founders (who have done the same work you’ll be doing) and will have ample opportunities for promotion and pay raises as the company grows. With strong performance, you can get ahead faster than at a large corporation. However, unlike other startups, you won’t be asked to do tons of different tasks, so you can focus all your efforts on sales. We also want to hear your ideas, so if you’re someone who wants to see their impact versus being a cog in the machine, you’ll be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to and from sales events within a 2-hour radius of your city, multiple times per week
- Set up displays at fairs, college pop-ups, and other events
- Actively engage with customers during the entire duration of the event, demonstrating product knowledge and driving sales to meet monthly sales goals.
- Gathering content for social media (minor responsibility) at events
- Maintain inventory at sales events and handle payment transactions
- Report on sales performance and provide feedback on customer interactions
- Work with co-founders to brainstorm future event ideas and ways to improve Bessie pop-up experiences
Qualifications:
- Passion for beauty, fashion, or personal care products, especially press-on nails!
- Extremely strong interpersonal and communication skills – you’re extroverted, social, and high-energy. Social anxiety fears you.
- Sales or customer service experience is great, but not required. Overall, people who don’t fear rejection will find this role most fun and are most likely to succeed.
- Energetic, positive attitude
- Must have reliable access to a car or truck, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift/move light event setup materials
- Must be able to travel frequently and work a flexible schedule, sometimes (but not frequently) including weekends
What We Offer:
- Base pay of $48,000 + commission (est. all-in compensation at $55,000+)
