As a Compliance Management Trainee, you are dedicated to ensuring the company achieves its mission through objective assurance and consulting activity to reduce risk and enhance operations. Our Compliance Team plays a critical role in shaping and upholding BNSF’s ethical culture by developing policies and mechanisms for reporting, investigating, monitoring, and correcting non-compliance. As a Management Trainee, you will participate in a comprehensive training program, gaining hands-on experience in audit and compliance processes, and directly contributing to the integrity and excellence of our operations. This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 40 hrs/wk, split between the office and remote work, with weekend or evening work as needed.
Travel may be required on occasion – to provide training to the field, attend certification training, and conduct investigations.
Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location.
Training will start with a week of orientation in Fort Worth, Texas, offering a company overview and networking with leaders. This will be followed by support of ongoing projects and practical training with the department.

Key responsibilities may include:
Conducts investigations into alleged fraud, waste, or misuse of company resources. These investigations require the investigator to critically analyze complex facts and business processes (such as procurement, disbursement, travel expense, timekeeping, and payroll).
Document evidence and communicate results of investigations to senior leadership through written reports and/or verbal briefings.
Leverage technology to detect and deter fraud or abuse. This responsibility requires understanding how various information systems work and designing and/or implementing solutions to prevent fraud and abuse within those systems.
Opportunities to execute Fraud Risk Assessments.
Implement recommended scope activities identified to strengthen internal controls and improve monitoring to mitigate fraud risks. Carrying out this responsibility requires effective organization and managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing based on continual reassessment of risks and scope.
Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
Does not require sponsorship to obtain, maintain, or extend authorization to work in the United States. (For example, H1-B Visa or STEM OPT)
Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Management Information Systems, Legal Studies, Finance, OR a similar degree program from an accredited university to be completed prior to hire OR I have obtained a degree in a program described above.
Have and/or will graduate with at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have your Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential or have the intention to pursue CFE.
Prior intern experience in compliance, auditing, accounting, or a related field.
During college career, held a leadership position in a campus, community or extracurricular organization.
