Full-Time Research Assistant

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team at Weill Cornell Department of Psychiatry. ​

The candidate will join scientific and clinical projects at the intersection of computational and clinical neuroscience, AI, and psychology.

We are looking for someone with experience and background in coding (either neuroimaging, statistical data analyses, or AI/ML), to join our integrative academic-clinical collaborations. The candidate will both interact with patients and research participants in assessments and screening of mental health and assist in the analysis of datasets spanning clinical, behavioral, and neuroimaging modalities.

This position is ideal for a candidate who is interested in pursuing doctoral studies in neuroscience, clinical psychology, or medical school later on. The position requires a 2-year commitment, full-time in-person at our lab, located at 1300 York Avenue, New York, with the possibility of some remote days.

Job Responsibilities

This position requires prior knowledge and experience in coding and data analytics skills. This can be in the context of computational projects and/or neuroimaging projects.

​The candidate would split their time between clinical activities and data analysis projects, or alternatively, focus on data analysis projects.

​

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in data analytics projects
  • Contributes to data collection, including clinical and cognitive assessment administration and collection of neuroimaging data at MRI scanning sessions.
  • Participate in study visits with clinical populations, including individuals with depression.
  • Conducts literature reviews and gains expert familiarity with research protocols and statistical analysis plans.
  • Assists in the creation of study databases, data cleaning, quality control, and dataset preparation.
  • Conducts quantitative coding and computational analysis of study data.
  • Performs statistical analysis of clinical, behavioral, and neuroimaging datasets.
  • Assists in the preparation of materials, submissions, and renewals to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  • Work alongside Dr. Solomonov, Dr. Falk, and Dr. Victoria in the preparation of grant submissions and associated documentation, conference abstracts, figures, and manuscripts.
  • Prepare results and interpret findings with opportunities for authorship on conference manuscripts and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field

Experience: At least one year of previous research experience preferred. Coding and data analysis experience required. This could include:

Statistical analysis experience (R Studio, MATLAB).

Coding skills (Java, C++, Python, Bash scripting).

Functional and structural neuroimaging experience preferred; proficiency with resting-state, task-based, and/or tractography-based neuroimaging software packages (FSL, SPM, AFNI, DSI Studio).

Start Date: Flexible, with the possibility of starting immediately or in the Spring of 2026.

Salary Range: $22.03 to $30.00/hour
