Position Summary
The Russian, East European, and Eurasian (REES) department seeks to hire a Course Assistant to assist Professor Roman Utkin with the course Introduction to Russian and Soviet Cinema, REES233 / FILM333. Course Assistants play a vital role in supporting the instructor and students throughout the course. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks to ensure the course runs smoothly and enhance the overall learning experience for all participants.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist faculty with logistics of film screenings. Set up screening space if needed; this may involve lifting and moving chairs and desks, as well as other classroom equipment. Provide AV support during the screening as necessary.
- Record class attendance.
- Support administrative functions, such as by copying and printing course materials.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- REES and FILM majors and minors are encouraged to apply!
- Ideal student will be punctual, responsible, and well organized.
- Training will be provided, but preference will be given to students with experience in handling AV equipment.
- Students who are eligible for work-study will be given preference.
Schedule & Availability
- Spring 2026, one semester
- 4-5 hours/week
- Course assistance is needed for Monday and Wednesday nights 8-10pm
- In-person work
- REES offices are located on the 4th floor of Fisk Hall.
