The Linguistics Club aims to serve as a space where linguistics-lovers of all backgrounds, branches, and skill levels can connect, interact, and learn through a variety of projects and events. These include presentations on linguistic topics, workshops on language building, creating languages as a club, reviewing etymologies, movie nights, trivia sessions, and more! We also desire to facilitate a larger linguistics presence at Wesleyan and provide engaged students with the support and resources necessary to pursue an interest in linguistics during and beyond the undergraduate years. Moreover, the Linguistics Club strives to foster relationships between interested students and the on-campus professors who have studied linguistics or are conducting research related to linguistics through organized events including speakers’ series, faculty presentations, and Q&As.
