What was your role and what did you work on?
During my internship with LFC, I shadowed social workers who specialize in supporting children in foster care. These professionals assist children whose families are involved in family court, advocating for their needs and preferences throughout the legal process.
What was a highlight of your experience?
A highlight of my experience was working with my supervisor, Ilena, who actively involved me in every aspect of case management. She also provided valuable guidance for my post-graduate career, including recommendations for pursuing a Master of Social Work.
How did your summer experience impact you?
As someone considering a career in social work, this experience was an excellent introduction to how social workers can impact various processes, including the legal system. I was able to gain valuable hands-on experience for my future career.
