What is your current role? What was your journey in arriving there?
I’m a financial analyst at the CFPB. I completed a masters in public policy, worked for as an economic consultant, and was accepted to the Presidential Management Fellowship program.
What do you enjoy about your work? What challenges does your industry currently face?
It combines quantitative and qualitative analysis in service of efficient and fair financial markets.
How did your time at Wesleyan influence your career choice/journey?
QAC coursework informed my desire to conduct statistical analysis professionally.
Do you have any advice for students thinking about entering your industry?
CFPB has a Director’s Financial Analyst program which would be a good intro to public service. More generally, networking and developing technical skills are both helpful.
