What was the name of the organization you worked for over the summer?
RBC Capital Markets.
What did you work on?
I worked in investment banking, assisting technology companies with financing and mergers and acquisitions. As an intern, my job responsibilities included: actively communicating with my deal teams and helping to ensure that all transactions were successful from the beginning to the end while building sustainable relationships.
What was a highlight of your experience?
A highlight of my experience was completing the bake-off for one of my deal teams. Not only did it create team collaboration, getting knowledge from experts who have been in the industry for decades, but it also helped to cultivate my critical thinking skills and foster thinking outside of the box in faster, innovative ways. I was responsible for creating and editing the discussion materials. We spent incredibly long nights making sure our materials were prepared. This experience allowed me to realize how truly appreciative I was to be working in investment banking. I loved how everyone communicated effectively, which resulted in a huge success.
How did your summer experience impact you?
My summer experience allowed me to learn about the financial industry and gain a thorough understanding of business. I believe that finance is my chosen career, and with this, I believe I can make a positive contribution to the world.
