Meet the Peer Career Advisors

Alexis is a senior majoring in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and minoring in Biophysics and IDEAS. She is Russian-American but grew up in London, and speaks Spanish and Russian. Academically, she is deeply passionate about scientific research and biophysics, and wants to pursue these interests in the context of Women’s health after graduating. Outside of the Gordon Career Center, she works in a biochemistry lab and as a Residential Advisor. She became a PCA due to her passion for helping fellow students and the chance to learn about interests far outside her own, and loves working with students from all walks of life.

Sophia Hernandez is from Medford, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston, and is majoring in the College of Social Studies (CSS) and Economics at Wesleyan University. She is interested in international business, finance, and intellectual property law, and hopes to attend law school after gaining experience in finance. Before coming to Wesleyan, Sophia took a gap year during which she worked as a teacher at the École Française de Boston and as a case manager at a youth homeless shelter, experiences that shaped her passion for service and mentorship. On campus, she serves as an RA, works at the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, and is involved in the Wesleyan Doula Project, Women in Finance, and the Wesleyan Investing Group. She also plays rugby and cello and runs her own tutoring company. In her free time, Sophia enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and baking, watercolor painting, and making music. As a PCA, she is passionate about creating a nonjudgmental and supportive environment for students, particularly those who are still exploring their interests, as well as supporting women and students of color as they navigate their academic and professional journeys.

Kenny (he/him) is a senior from Boston, MA majoring in Economics and Psychology with a minor in Data Analysis. He is currently a member of the Eclectic society, and was previously the academic affairs chair of the student assembly and a TA for data analysis. This past summer, he interned at a pharmaceutical in their investor relations department. In his free time, Kenny enjoys watching the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and broadway shows. As a PCA, Kenny is excited to help others find their passion while creating a meaningful impact through their career goals.

Ava is a junior from Irvine, California, studying Economics. In her free time, she loves watercolor painting, practicing yoga, going for long car rides, and watching movies with friends. Over this summer, she volunteered on organic farms in Scandinavia to learn about sustainability and business. At Wesleyan, she is a treasurer for Rho Epsilon Pi and a layout editor for the Argus. As a peer career advisor, she is excited to help students reflect on what paths might fit their interests and personal goals, and is especially eager to guide women pursuing finance.

Zoey Possick is a current junior from Rye Brook, NY at Wesleyan studying Government (International Relations), Global Engagement and Italian Language and Culture at Wesleyan. In addition to her role as a PCA, she co-coordinates Wesleyan’s Habitat for Humanity Chapter and Wesleyan’s ACLU Chapter. She’s planning to pursue a career at the intersection of law, policy, and government, and has had experience in both nonprofit and government offices in NYC and CT over her summers and semesters. Her favorite part about being a PCA is connecting with students across a wide range of interests and experiences. She’s excited to meet with anyone, especially students with a shared interest in government and law school. In her free time, she’s either playing tennis, walking her dog (a Shih Tzu named Ruby), or cooking with her friends.

Romi, from Greenwich, CT, is an economics major, a Jewish Studies minor, and is on the Wesleyan Womens Varsity Soccer team. She is very interested in finance and is a co-president of Wesleyan Investment Group and Women in Finance. She is also a board member of Foss Hill Financial. In her free time, she loves to go thrifting, cook, and (very rarely) play guitar! Romi most recently completed a summer internship program as an M&A analyst at Gordon Dyal & Co. and plans to return to the firm next summer. After her experience during her IB recruitment season, she wanted to see the overall hiring processes from a different perspective and how it looks in different industries. Additionally, she is excited for an opportunity to guide other Wesleyan students throughout their career exploration journeys as past PCAs and mentors have done for her! She is particularly eager to help those interested in finance but wants to cater to every possible pathway as much as she can.

Mischka is a Senior from Manila, Philippines, majoring in Economics and Psychology. Passionate about consulting, mentorship, and social impact. This past summer, she worked at Bain & Co on an Agentic AI case for a global insurtech company working on their operating model workstream. Her involvement at Wesleyan includes being a Teaching Fellow for the National Education Equity Lab’s Introduction to Psychology course and the Co-President of Consulting Pathways. Outside of academics, Mischka enjoys exploring visual arts, baking, and traveling. As a Peer Career Advisor, she is eager to support fellow international students and help them pursue their own career goals.
