What is your current role? What was your journey in arriving there?
I am currently working within the risk management division at Fidelity Investments, and am based in London, United Kingdom. Prior to my full-time role, I was a summer intern within the Treasurer’s Office, which was a great introduction to both Fidelity and the diversity of roles within an asset management and investment firm.

What do you enjoy about your work? What do you struggle with?
I really enjoy working within a global team where my colleagues span North America, Europe, and Asia. The international exposure is immense and has enabled me to learn about how markets and financial institutions function in different parts of the world. Additionally, risk management and its intersection with compliance, business operations, and trading/investments means that I am constantly meeting new people and being exposed to different roles at the firm.

How did your time at Wesleyan influence your career choice/journey?
Wesleyan introduced me to a lot of different people and provided me with invaluable resources which allowed me to consider careers I didn’t previously know existed. Wesleyan also allowed me to grow personally, becoming more confident in myself and my abilities.

Do you have any advice for students thinking about entering your industry?
Work for an employer and organization that you respect. At the end of the day, companies are composed of people, and finding people that will support you and your development is crucial.
